Hey, I remember you. =P
We're Priest... we are meant to heal. =P
But I do agree with some of the points you brought up. The holy tree sucks. It needs to be re-worked. For this reason, I'm not holy specced at all. I'm actually Disc/Shadow. It's my compromise for raiding and a little of PvP. I can heal fine in raids, but I'm certainly not put on MT if there other holy/disc or disc/holy priests around.
And maybe it's just me, but I like healing.
Oh... yeah, we definately need better stats on our equips.

Guys - sorry I haven't been in this forum in a while, but I didn't stop playing, I was just too busy on the realm forum and guild forum...
for the first time I'll whine a bit. I would appreciate much much much if you guys from the US would post this in the official Priest forum, as I would like the developpers to think about it. It's not a suggestion, just an illustration of the main problem that I, and many other holy priests, have in this game once they reach level 60: lack of fun.

Hey there.
I've made a short movie (15mb download) for the holy priest cause. It's available here:
http://files.filefront.com/fix_it2avi/;4191191;;/fileinfo.html
It's about my primary concern for the Priest class: the utter lack of gameplay fun when we go out and heal in a PVE instance that isn't a raid. MC/ZG/BWL, etc... are not really concerned by that movie. Nor is PVP, even though there are issues there, I know it damn well too.
This lack of fun in healing *is* the reason why the holy tree is frown on. It's because healing in instances is ridiculously boring outside of a raid, which happens maybe, what, once a week at most for casual players, two-three times a week for serious players, and everyday only for selected few hardcore gamers in a hardcore guild.
We are entirely passive in an instance. Sure we can chat, but that's all we can do to enjoy it, and we don't need to be in an instance for it. There's no "gaming" per se. Nothing to see.
When a priest reaches level 60, he will enjoy the loot in the first two weeks, maybe, then unless he is ready to go loot MC/ZG/Onyxia/BWL timewise and guildwise, he will be shelved.
Concerns: 1) the loot is unimpressive funwise. People get incredible items that improve their damage, speed, mana, survivability, but our healing is improved only in the dullest way. Please make loot with each heal you cast gives you a chance to cast xxx. Please give us loot with +shield bonus. Please give us loot with +% chance to resist stun effect. Please give us loot with proc chance on wand shoot. Please give us loot for the dedicated healer available in earlier instances! FIX IT!
2) the holy spells are broken, full stop. Healing spells do NOT improve with levels. Sure you can heal more, but there is no clear bonus from healing more. Especially since the most mana efficient heal spell is a level 22 one (with full benefits from +heal). Actually this heal rank 2 spell is the only one that you might want to use with +crit% gear, because you don't care about overheals with it. FIX IT!
3) the healing gameplay is broken. Right. If I want to heal others, I need to forfeit my fun. This makes the whole "playing a healer to assist others" basically pointless. Only the strong, the fierce, people mentally ill can keep on helping others in instances after they got their gear ready for MC. There's simply no point in so much dedication for others being required as soon as you spec to holy. I already forfeited PVP fun when I choosed my 41 holy / 10 disc, so why forfeit my PVE fun as well?
Right now priests have two opportunities if they want to enjoy the end game: 1) spec PVP. Good luck having fun on a PVE server. 2) be a raid leader. And pray that enough people are available each time you'd like to go to a raid instance.
In any case, priests get spammed because priests are rare. Priests are rare because they play their alts, waiting for a raid to come. Priests play their alts because they have no fun going to non-raid instances.
Without priests available, people choose to grind honour for their gear upgrades, instead of going out and fight. Thanks to DHK, outdoor PVP and raids are totally dreadful, so people go to battlegrounds, massively, and random outdoor PVP has disappeared more or less from the face of the server. You won't see any level 60 with good gear outside of Org/IF/BG.
Fix the holy healing fun. Give us a reason to go back there and help our troops.
I'm done.
Thanks for reading.
Thanks for watching the movie.
Sorry for its bad quality and rather unfun action.
I wanted it to be short and lightweight. It's propaganda business here.
Spread it if you think it's true.
FIX IT!
