So according to this equation, damage is added onto the range and not influenced
by power. So the new DPS is:

0.5*(88 + 106)/2.5 = 38.8 dps

Before enchant is:

0.5*(55 + 103)/2.5 = 31.6 dps 

Error here. Correct is:
0.5*(85 + 103)/2.5 = 37.6 dps

No. The enchant adds 3 to both min and max damage, and thus adds 3/2.5
= 1.2 dps (which fits with 38.8 - 37.6 = 1.2).

I'll take back what I said. So now, an increase of 1.2dps for +3 damage isn't a lot IMO. A typical battle with a similar level mob is approximately between 15 to 20 secs. So this means I could get an additional 18 to 24 damage in total for the whole fight. Of course this amount depends on what level you are and could be a lot.
