I knew this was gonna be a huge game but 3 discs of content sounds
pretty nice to me. ( 1 for the PS3)

"L.A. Noire was always going to be a massive game, from the size and
detail of the world to the length of the cases, and of course, the
sheer amount of MotionScan data required for the faces of over 400
actors in-game," Jeronimo Barrera, one of the company's top people,
told me. "To tell the story and make the game we wanted to make, we
knew that it was going to take an entire single layer Blu-ray disc and
three Xbox discs."

the MotionScan data—the heavily-promoted new technique for rendering
realistic facial expressions from the game's actors—requires a
significant amount of storage.

The only down-side to a multi-disc game is that it could require a lot
of disc-swapping. You don't want to play, say, the two-disc Mass
Effect 2 and want to keep changing discs. Not to worry, Barrera said.
"Since the game is built around the concept of progressing through
individual cases from desk to desk, players on Xbox will find disc-
swapping is hassle-free. In fact, players will only need to swap discs
twice at natural breaks between cases without interrupting the flow of
the game."

My buddy is so much of a fanboy of this game without having even
played it that when some reviews came out being mostly positive but
mentioning the quick repetitiveness of the investigation aspect of the
game he went on a tirade bashing the reviewers.

I still have way too many games on my backlog to be buying new ones. I
have plenty to keep me busy for a while.

I'm interested in checking it out down the line, but it's not a game I
feel I have to play right away. Part of it is that I'm just not a big
fan of that whole era.

I'm also not big on games that are meticulous and lacking in action,
LOL.

Meticulous and lacking in action is L.A. Noire's downfall, if only
there were easier ways to re-do interrogation/interview sequences
faster , instead you have to often regather all clues and watch long
dialogue cutscenes over and over if you want the perfect 4/4 Q&A
result. This can quickly become tedious and boring. So I resorted to
using YouTube walkthroughs without watching any spoilers to help me
along my interview/interrogator path when I am stumped.

Luckily there are a few great walkthroughs that don't publish the
outcomes/cutscenes of successful interviews/interrogations with
suspects/witnesses. etc.

Noire is more Heavy Rain in this regard than RDR


Often the suspect/witness will throw you off causing you to select the
doubt reply when in fact all you had to do was select Truth and Phelps
would simply say "continue-on-with-your-explanation-of-event" etc.

But in a way this is the beauty of the game , it really makes you
think about your replies , one wrong tactic and you'll get 3/4
question right and possibly cause the suspect/witness to clam up and
not reveal any more details. But you can simply exit/reload game to
retry again to get that coveted 4/4 questions perfect to reveal all
possible clues about the current case file.
But like I said earlier a reload of the game sometimes pushes back to
before you even gathered any clues what-so-ever for the case.

A better replay option would be better , kind of like Mass Effect
where you can speed through replayed dialogue and get to the part
where you want to retry a different method of questions.

Overall it's a great game , more of a slow burn , it could definitely
use allot more action with longer action gun fight sequences. And a
little more freedom to mess around the city even though your a cop.
