Has anyone here used the external USB drive connectivity feature of
the Xbox 360 yet? I'm curious if this is something I should consider
investing in.
I've been looking to purchase one of the new models, but I can only
ever find a console with 4GB and I'm not interested in dropping $130 +
tax for the 250GB hard drive. I tend not to have *that* many games
installed at any one time, anyway, so if I purchased say 3 16GB USB
drives that should probably be enough room for me at least for the
time being.
I'm most interested in how the performance is when running games off
the drives. The only reason I even use the hard drive at all is to be
able to play games off the drive directly for improved performance.
Sandisk Cruzers work well. The formatter will complain the stick isn't
up to standards but it ran beautifully for me anyway. Never had a
performance problem in all the months I used it.
Any stick on Newegg that's rated for Windows Readyboost works as well.

PS: the 360 will only work with 2 sticks at a time, anyway. So buying 3
is wasteful unless you have some other use for the third.
