I'm going to reply to this part of the article because it doesn't follow at
all. Reach won't come close to near what Halo 3 did in not only marketing,
but sales per install base. I mean, look at ODST, it hasn't sold even close
to half of what Halo3 has sold and the install base of the 360 at the time
of ODST's release was well over 10mil more than that that of the install
base of the 360 at the time of Halo 3's release. Since ODST hasn't sold
anything remotely close to what Halo 3 sold considering the install base
between the two releases at their respective times , I honestly don't think
Reach will sell anymore than ODST has to date totally, even with the larger
install base now.

Like someone mentioned in another thread, Bungie themselves kept
describing ODST as little more than an expansion pack for a long time.
Bungie has been very vocal that Reach is a full on game with much more
to offer than ODST.

Further, Microsoft has put a lot more marketing force behind Reach
than they did with ODST. For all intents and purposes, this is the
fourth true game in the Halo series, complete with its own limited
edition customized console. IIRC ODST didn't even have any special
editions other than the GameStop specific "comes with a branded
controller" pack.

I think Reach will be a lot more like Halo 3 than ODST - probably not
quite as many software unit sales as 3 only because so many people
must have moved on by now, but it will still be huge.

All of that aside, look at the ratio of how many units of Halo 3 sold at the time of how many 360 were sold (I mean before a price drop of Halo 3, it sold well over half as many units of the game as there were 360s in households.), and I still think reach will not sell the units that 3 did, even in total.
