Well, for example, the extra content I got for ME2 wasn't on the disc for
use with a code. When I sued the code, it gave me a link to download from
Bioware/EA those extras. In fact, the code I use for at least one of the
items came from my purchase of Dragon Age amd it was downloaded as it wasn't
past of some unlockable element already on the ME2 discs..

SPOILER WARNING:
His level of interaction is much less than that of the other members. Other
than his loyalty mission, you get nothing more out of him except the same
exact comments reflecting on his trophies, etc when you visit him in his
quarters and nothing changes with that as the game progresses like it does
with the others. He also doesn't give upgrades.
He can't since you can't actually talk to him to ask him what upgrade
he has to offer! :-)
Exactly why I didn't say I asked or talked to him about anything :-)

Not true, I am fairly certain you can finish the game without using that
character as when you acquire that character, you get a certain device that
used in activating that mission. I am also unsure, but from that aspect of
the game, it seems you could skip a few characters and play out the end. I
didn't do it because I don't know whether or not any or all of these
characters will carry over into ME3 as part of the equation or be just good
or bad memories like it was from ME1 to 2 for most of those that were in
ME1. Whether or not these characters can still be unlocked and play later
when the final mission is over, I don't know.
I wasn't talking about that slot next to Zaeed. I was talking about
the empty space to the right of Jack, the position mirror opposite to
Zaeed.
I'm curious if there's anyone who has played the game *without*
activating the Cerberus Network. I'm interested in knowing if the
squad selection screen has some sort of marker in Zaeed's spot (like
you do if you simply haven't gotten to the point where Zaeed drops
into your lap) or if it's empty like the same spot on the other side
of the screen.
Maybe it is different on the 360 version, because there is no extra slot next to Jack on the PC version. Altogether, there are 11 members (including Zaeed). (Left to right, Zaeed, Legion, Samara, Tali, Mordin, Garrus, Miranda, Grunt, Jacob, Thane and Jack)
