The screenshots and the video look nice but one problem is that you're
still piloting relatively slow, lumbering robots around. Movement
isn't as fluid as with, say, a shooter (which is how most gamers are
going to see this obviously), and if they stick with the design
decision to keep all the heat issues intact, most gamers won't have
the patience.
It's too bad more people can't appreciate a more complex, slow paced
combat game. Myself I like viewing damage screens on a HUD and
deciding which areas to try to target on the enemy that are weakening
and having to cool down your weapons and make decisions based on your
own damaged weapon systems (looks like they may introduce in-mission
repair capabilities) and stuff like that. Each battle becomes sort of
like a mini-boss encounter with a lot of depth instead of just
blasting hordes of enemies one after another. But like you said most
gamers just don't have the patience for this type of slower more
simulation type of combat game.
