Enterbrain, publisher of Japan's prestigious Famitsu magazine, has revealed
that Sony's PlayStation 3 console has eclipsed the three million unit sales
mark in the territory since its launch in November 2006.
Sales data puts the console at approximately 3,008,395 units sold in Japan
since its inception, with Microsoft's Xbox 360 passing the one million mark
following its launch in December 2005.
Recently it has been confirmed that PS3 sales in the UK have topped two
million, with European sales reaching 8.5 million.
Are we supposed to be impressed that Sony has only managed to sell 3
million Playstation 3 units in their home territory after 2 full years
on the market? You do realize that Nintendo's sales numbers are 265%
of that number, right?
The hilarious thing is that you're apparently bragging that Sony has
not had to drop the price (although that's a strange claim considering
Japan started off with $465 and $558 models and now have a $372 model)
all the while avoiding the fact that sales numbers would be
significantly higher were there a price drop.
JDrozen - always good for a laugh.
