Apparently this would be a one time fee for setup on the PS3. Jonah
conveniently left that out (as well as the link) making a spin that it
would
cost $10/month. Here is the article and a screen shot of the
questionaire.

I'd be OK with a one time $10 fee. I'm not really fond of the Xbox
Live double fee system.

Yea, I think silver account holder should be able to stream movies as well,
it isn't like they are not going to pay them. And, IIRC, one can buy MS
points without having to purchase a gold account.

If someone has a Gold account there should be a free streaming Netflix
account. If you get a physical disc then by all means, charge the
Netflix fee too. But if all I'm doing is streaming over Live then I
shouldn't have to pay a fee twice.

Well, I don't know if it should be free, Netflix wouldn't make any money and
MS would have droves of subscribers to Gold just to watch movies with no
extra charge.

There's no reason for Netflix not to charge a fee. The partnership
between the two companies is simply the advantage to be able to watch
streaming movies on your television through a device that is already
plugged into the television as opposed to watching on a small laptop
screen or having to set up a connection from the laptop to the
television.

Now if someone has a Silver account then by all means, charge them a
Netflix fee. Same as with PSN.

In either case a fee is only paid once.

I am not following you here. You mean charge them the one time fee? I think
they should just be able to stream it over for the charge they put on the
video anyway without having to get gold for the 360.

The problem there is that Microsoft makes no money. The point of this
collaboration was to provide a reason for someone to become a Gold
member if they're already a Netflix subscriber or to become a Netflix
subscriber if they're already a Gold member.

I think the NXE update
allowed this for Netflix. If I read the article correctly, a PS3 user would
have to use that disc every time they want to watch a movie, and they pay
for the disc ($9.99) just once). They still have to pay for each viewing of
a flick though.
