Doom, and Wolfenstein before it, influenced FPS gaming but that's just
one portion of the entire video game industry. Casual games that
target the less diehard among us have a much bigger audience.
I would have still listed DOOM over Halo. Without DOOM, there would have
been no Halo. And DOOM is still the favorite game amongst "video games
are evil!" crusaders even though it's over 15 years old.
Tetris should also be on the list. That's probably the bigger omission.
