Thew list seems ot be limited to console games wich a bit stupid in my book
seeing as the majority of influential games are pronbaly from teh computer
side of things.

I'm writing my own list.  This is from my own knoledge so iff anyone sees
anything they think I called wrong then feel free to point it out.

1. Wolfenstein 3D, as you said K, it spawned an new genre.
2. Alone in the Dark. Spawned the 3D survial Horror
3. Dune 2/ Command and Conquer.
4. Thief.  The birth of stealth gameplay.
5. Baldurs Gate.  One of the first CRPGs to hit it big.
6. Elite.  Nuff said.
7. The Secret of Monkey Island . This was a difficult one and I'm not sure
if I should be saying one of the earlier Lucas Film adventures or not.  This
was the fist time that SCUMM became truly user friendly in my book though..
8. Deus Ex.  One of the first hybrid games.
9. Civilization
10. UFO (XCom)
11. X-Wing
12.  World of Warcraft
13. Warcraft: Orcs Vs Humans

A few that were bloody fantastic but not as influential as they should have
been.

Planescape Torment.
System Shock
Master of Orion 2
Dungeon Keeper
Gabriel Knight

Your list is just as skewed... your talking about games that were
influential to the "hardcore gaming" sector of the industry. Tetris
had a much bigger influence because it opened up gaming to a whole new
demographic. When I was in college, everyone and their grandmother was
playing Tetris on their PCs, Macs, laptops, you name it. Tetris sold
like gangbusters on the Game Boy when it first arrived on that scene.
Tetris sold like gangbusters on the DS.

Pretty much every puzzle game in existence owes its birth to Tetris.
And those puzzle games are far more popular and far more widespread
than FPS games, driving games, RPGs, etc.
