Super Mario Kart?  Tetris got robbed.  The whole glut of puzzle games
out there owe their success to Tetris.

Halo's the highest FPS on the list.

Whoever built the list has no comprehension of the meaning of the word
"influential".

1. Super Mario Kart - Direct descendant of F-Zero. Shouldn't be
anywhere near #1.

2. Tetris - Good choice. Essentially invented the puzzle genre.

3. Grand Theft Auto - Good choice, opened up sandbox gaming.

4. Super Mario World - I'm not sure, I can't think of any SMW clone.
In terms of quality I'd say SMB3 > SMW. But influence?

5. Zelda Ocarina of Time - Again, I doubt the "influence" factor. Even
future Zelda games didn't really copy the style of TooT.

6. Halo - Every FPS has been chasing Doom. Particularly space marine
games.

7. Resident Evil IV
8. Final Fantasy XII - Sequels should never count as "most
influential". Resident Evil? Absolutely. RE: IV? No. Final Fantasy? No
brainer. FF XII? Um... no.

9. Street Fighter II - Well, except this one. The original "Fighting
Street" is essentially forgotten and all modern fighting games descend
from SFII. SFII on the other hand, does owe an awful lot to games like
Yie Ar Kung Fu and Karate Champ (I'm pretty sure Ken and Ryu are
directly stolen from Karate Champ -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oqq1ijzQhI
).

10. GoldenEye - A video game based on a decades old movie series is
influential? Um... yeah...

GoldenEye proved that FPS gaming could work on the console long before
Halo did...
