It just happens the PS3 has a default setting to check this and the connection overload is causing
what appears to be a freeze but is actually a very slow downloading.
Then they probably should have marked the screen "Downloading BD Live
Content - Please Wait". Instead they threw up a big blue circle and
disabled the controls.
(They have now almost fixed it, when you put in the disc it asks you
if you want to do the download or not, it still just has a big blue
ring and no progress bar or anything though.)
To bypass:
Go into BD/DVD Settings and for the option "BD Internet Connection",
switch from "Allow" to "Confirm".
When the confirmation message pops up when you load the BD, select
"NO" and the disc will load instantly.
It also works if you simply turn off Internet access on the PS3... but
I want you to look carefully at both of these solutions.
What you have to do, in order to get the disc to function properly, in
order to WATCH A FUCKING MOVIE is DISABLE functionality.
That's right, in order to watch a movie you paid for you have to turn
off features that Sony has been hyping. "Oooo! BD-Live! Blu-Ray
profile 2.0!" Yeah, if you want to watch a movie you paid for you have
to shitcan all that.
Does this make sense to you? Have you EVER had to do that to watch a
movie or play a game... oh, EVER?
This is further evidence that Blu-Ray is an unfinished format that is
not ready for prime time.

Fyi - I told it to go ahead and do the download tonight, one full week
after the disc came out. It still took two minutes. Know what it is?
10, ten question trivia quizzes! Woo! Now that's something that's
never been done on DVD before! Wow, I'm sure glad I have this BD-Live
content for something as important as that...
You know, both DVD and HD-DVD managed to pull off content like this
without royally screwing up the movie experience. Why can't Blu-Ray?
Would you prefer that you NEVER BE ABLE to get any upgrades?
If that were the case, 10 to 1 you'd be here, complaining that you got
shafted because later adopters get features you didn't.
