who cares? BioShock has always been a shit game.
Nah. It was a really good rental.
I only ever considered purchasing the game and I was glad (and still
am glad) I did. I've played through several times and still have at
least one more run-through to complete all the Achievements.
It is easily my favorite Xbox 360 game so far and sits side-by-side
with Uncharted as one-half of my favorite games this generation.
Not a purchase though. What did it do in sales? A little over a million?
Some fanboys tout it as the messiah of gaming.
Messiah? I don't think any game will ever deserve a title anywhere
near that level of awe and respect.
It certainly was revolutionary in its storytelling and its immersion.
No other game this generation has come anywhere close.
The sound, weapon upgrades
and creep factor is what made the game for me. If not for that I would've
grown bored with it quick.
The same logic can be applied to any game. There isn't any game this
generation that is absolutely perfect in every sense such that if you
took away some number of its best assets it would still be nearly as
good.
If you took away multiplayer from Call of Duty 4 would it have been
nearly as good a game? Same deal with Halo 3.
If you got rid of the high-resolution textures, camouflage suit and
weapon upgrades in Metal Gear Solid 4, would it have been as good a
game?
If you stripped the story and customization from Mass Effect, would it
have been nearly as interesting an RPG?
It could've have been a huge graphical upgrade on
the PS3 and I still wouldn't have even rented the game. It was never even on
my radar as possible games to try on the PS3.
Well, if you've already played it on the Xbox 360, there really
wouldn't be much of a point in playing it again on the PS3. There are
a few new pieces of content but nothing that's game-changing.
Jonah is clinging to straws as usual. I wonder what he is going to do after
Gears of War 2 is released and starts to grow stale? What else will there be
to play on the 360 in the future?
It will be quite some time before Gears of War 2 grows stale. It will
likely shove Halo 3 online multiplayer aside with violent force and
sit atop the charts for months. Look how long the first game lasted
with hideously buggy multiplayer...
