What are all these news articles about GTA "keeping people from seeing
the movie?"
Movie production companies have been complaining for the last few
years that video games are keeping people away from the movies and
resulting in their dwindling profits. It is true that a number of new
media and entertainment options available to consumers are making
movies less and less the only thing to do on a Friday night (you can
spend hours on HULU watching movies for free). But saying that
people who want to see Ironman can't put the controller down for 2
hours to go see the movie is a little far fetched. People who don't
want to see Ironman obviously will find something else to do. I guess
they're upset that the people who have nothing else to do aren't
wandering into the movie theaters anymore.
