I purchased the hddvd add-on for the 360 back in December when amazon
was offering up the bourne trilogy as a free bonus. I read that they
would be offering a $50 rebate to anyone who had purchased an hddvd
player prior to Feb. 23. Supposedly, they would be sending out e-mails
to the people who qualified with a coupon code that would be equal to
$50 in credit. I didn't receive any such e-mail. After googling this,
I read on a message board that all you had to do was write them and
explain the situation. I did just that and received the following e-
mail in response. On a side note: I wrote to them at around 3 am
eastern time and received this response about an hour later.

Thank you for writing to us at Amazon.com.

I have checked your order and can confirm that your order was

Hence, I have applied $50.00 promotional certificate funds for use

redeemed onto your account.  You will not receive a claim code.

should see that promotional funds have been automatically applied to
your order.

Please note that any promotional funds used towards your purchase are
not refunded. However, you will find restrictions about our promotional

Best Buy is doing the same thing. I already received my $50 gift
certificate.

Between the free movie I got with the add-on player to the 360, the
five free movies I received in the mail and the $50 certificate, I
paid only the tax on my player.
