Oh that's right, The whole Blu ray winner story was just media
fiction, huh? The parallel history of PS2 never really happen. The
whole point of the article is that PS3's first year mirrored the PS2
which went on to amazing success. There is absolutely no reason now
to think that PS3 will fail miserably.

And for the umpteen billionth time...WHAT THE FRACK DOES Blu-Ray's VICTORY
HAVE TO DO WITH A GAMING CONSOLE?!?

People don't normally buy game consoles because they want to watch
movies. And many of the folks who ARE buying a PS3 for movies AREN'T
BUYING GAMES. It won't matter if the PS3 outsells the 360 or not if it
doesn't also outsell the 360 in games as well. In fact, it would arguably
be WORSE for Sony's Computer Entertainment department if this were to
happen.

Show me where the PS3 ISN'T selling games? For the UMPTEEN BILLIONTH time,
I've told you that they are selling games, and at a higher % for the install
base to the 360. What part of this do you not understand. Go look it up,
and you'll see that the software sales for the PS3 have gone from about a
1:10 to the 360 6 months ago, to about 1:1.5 now. That's a huge gain
considering its install base is about 60% of the 360's.

I believe attach rates are calculated for all systems and software
historically. They look at how many systems have sold in total and how
much software has sold in total and determine the ratio from that.

As far as attach rates are concerned, it doesn't matter if the
Playstation 3 truly is selling software at a faster rate now.

This would be expected, anyway. There are more Playstation 3s being
sold worldwide right now so there should be a good percentage of
growth in the software sector for the system (at least Sony would hope
this is the case).
