NB: That overall game of the year 2007 was actually awarded to Mario
Galaxy...hats off to the Nintendo folks for that one!

And surprise surprise Bioshock beat Halo3 for shooter of the year!

Most of the results were not surprising. I do have an issue with Halo
3 beating out Call of Duty 4 for best online multiplayer game
considering how bad Halo 3's online game is. I'm also not fond of
Galaxy winning best action adventure but I guess they didn't diversify
the genres enough (same problem with BioShock... loved the game to
death and it's my favorite of the year but I couldn't ever say it was
a better traditional shooter than COD 4).

I couldn't agree wit you more, COD4 simply got the shaft, or MS gave some
contributions to the Yahoo staff. Hao 3 certainly was really good in the
campaign mode, no agrument from my experience in that level. But the MP is
simply broken, and nothing like it was in how you could make choices in halo
2 MP. COD4 is off the charts, though I haven't touched it in almost a month.

I just found out one of the "new guys" here at work is a gamer and we
had a very passionate debate over Call of Duty 4. He swears by GRAW
and GRAW 2, which I kept telling him were crap compared to COD 4. He
says COD 4 is one of the worst games he's ever played. He complained
that he went through the first 8 missions without firing a single shot
because his teammates cleared everything out too fast.
