I plugged in my 3.5 inch external 500g usb hard drive and it was spot on
so i downloaded a hd movie and transferred that but encountered problems
as the drive was fat32 therefore culdnt transfer the film as the size was
over 4gb
so i formatted the drive to ntfs and transferred no prob but when i
connected to 360
it cant detect it ?
how useless is that
your files cant be over 4gb on fat 32 which is useless
any ideas if microsoft can fix this issue

Hi gurus,
my xbox 360 cannot detect hard disk, one portable 2.5' hard disk, and one
external 3.5' harddisk (with ext power supply). However, it can detect
thumb drive, any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
The external drive would need a driver which the OS for 360
doesn't provide (I tried it myself awhile back). The only HD the
360 would recognize natively would be the 20GB or 120GB drive
that Microsoft sells...unfortunately. It can read thumbdrives
(my 2GB works great for watching media like anime and such),
but to my knowledge it can't write to them.
