Contrast, motion and blacks - plasma is still king.

I want to second that as well. On paper, the LCD's look great. But
when I actually went and looked at them, and compared their picture to
plasmas, the plasmas won out, hands down. On paper, the LCD's have
slightly more resolution, but to my eyes the LCD's still look "washed
out" compared to the plasmas (dull color, weak blacks, and that damn
aforementioned anti-glare coating). And, I don't care what anyone says
about improvements in LCD's handling of rapid motion, I can still see
"ghosting" in scenes with a lot of movement. Plus, the plasmas handled
standard definition better (pretty damn important, since very little
programming is available in HD, even on network HD channels).

Anyway, I went with plasma myself and haven't regretted it. I would
encourage anyone considering buying one to at least give plasmas a
look. I wouldn't just buy an LCD online, based on the numbers. You
really need to see it for yourself and compare it to other displays.
You'd be surprised at how much variation in picture you can see from
one display to the next.
