Whoa! You would think that it would sell well on the PS3 and moreso on the
Wii, and I can understand the numbers for the PS2. Looks like the Wii will
continue its attach rate being the lowest.

The numbers aren't really surprising to me except the sheer size of
the number for the Xbox 360.

It should have been obvious that the Xbox 360 version would far
outsell the PS3 version based on just how many more Xbox 360s there
are.

HUH? The 360 has a bit more than double the install base, yet the 360 version of GHIII sold nearly 7 times more than the PS3 version.

The fact that not as many of the PS3 version shipped due to the
publisher knowing just how much less of an install base the PS3 has
was a big factor as well. In the first week, I saw maybe 1 or 2 of the
PS3 version on shelves in over a dozen retailers. There were plenty of
the Xbox 360 and even the Wii version.

It has just less than half the install base, hence why I am surprised at the sames numbers for the PS3, the PS3 owners are NOT buying games.

Also, it's not surprising that the Wii version didn't sell in huge
numbers. The average Wii owner by definition is a casual gamer... one
who's not going to spend $80 on a game that requires so much time
investment to really take advantage of... and they're certainly not
going to spend $80 on a game where they're only going to play
minimally on the easiest difficulty level.

Why aren't the PS3 owners buying games? This is clearly a hit title since
its inception, but it isn't selling. GHIII actually outsold GOW in its first
week on the 360, by a decent margin (Gears sold 606759 its first week).

I'm actually a little bit surprised that the PS2 version didn't sell
quite that many. Target stores had a special offer where you would get
2 wireless guitars instead of 1... but I guess you have to have a
Target nearby.

I'm not, a year from now, don't be surpised at how many less game are being made for the PS2, it can't last forever.
