More defense?
Because I don't read them, nor do I reply to them anymore; that's one less
person for them on which to get their jollies off. Find one post where I
replied to any of them in the past 4 months. What I find interesting is that
you don't see the idiocy in posting PS3 horror stories to one's delight in a
group that doesn't have anyhting to do with the PS3!
Members of the Xbox newsgroup should be made up of people who just
like games in general (like you, I and many others who participate)
and people who are staunch supporters of the Xbox 360 to the point of
not liking Sony and/or the Playstation 3. Similarly, the Playstation
newsgroup(s) should be made up of people who just like games in
general and people who are staunch supporters of the Playstation 3 to
the point of not liking Microsoft and/or the Xbox 360.
Technically, anti-Xbox people from the Playstation side should not be
posting anti-Xbox drivel to the Xbox newsgroup, nor should anti-PS
people from the Xbox side be posting anti-PS drivel to the PS
newsgroup. Those who break these guidelines are trolls. Many people
don't like them and just killfile them. I personally don't like PS
trolls, either, but enjoy destroying their weak arguments.
In the end, it doesn't really matter whether someone is posting about
their dislike of the PS3 or the misfortunes of Sony's machine to the
Xbox 360 newsgroup because it's something that appeals to a legitimate
audience in the group.
I wouldn't be sad if all the PS3 trolls went away, but while they're
here, I'll make the best of them.
RMZ doesn't make such posts to the PS newsgroups, perhaps with an
exception here and there. Trolls like Blig, Alvin, Swam, Jimmy, etc.
post to the Xbox newsgroup constantly.
Yet your mature ratioinalization states that it is then acceptable to act
the very same way, while you freely point out that it's trolling, you're
inconsistent.
RMZ does not act the same way as Blig et al. They are trolling in the
Xbox newsgroup. By the very act of posting solely to the Xbox
newsgroup, he is not trolling as his statements are not meant to
illicit antagonistic responses from people who have a legitimate
reason to be in this newsgroup.
Further, most of RMZ's posts actually reference real data and draw
logical conclusions from that data. I'm not saying he's always right,
but posts by Blig, Alvin, Swam, Jimmy, et al have no basis in reality
and are made simply to bait argumentative responses.
For what purpose? You still don't answer that, yet you defend it without
good reason. You know the purpose of RMZ facts, they are to stir up ***. If
one dislikes something so much, you'd think it wouldn't be any issue. Yet,
while you defend that, it also looks like it must be of issue to you also,
to keep up the good fight for nothing.
The purpose of RMZ's posts is simply to inform, whether annoyingly
often or not, about how the Xbox 360 is better than the PS3 or how the
PS3 is failing at something. As this is an Xbox newsgroup, there are
obviously going to be people here who have taken the "side" in the
"console war" against the PS3 and so have a legitimate desire to read
stuff like that.
While some people who aren't so "rah rah" about the Xbox 360 versus
the Playstation 3 aren't going to be particularly interested in
reading his stuff, there are people who will be interested in reading.
Trolls are a nuisance because they post here SOLELY to illicit
negative responses from the legitimate members of this newsgroup. If
you're part of the group who doesn't really care about the diehard
fanatical war of words between supporters of the two consoles, you'll
feel the same way about trolls as you do about RMZ.
You mentioned above that you just don't respond to the trolls anymore.
So why do you respond to RMZ if you lump him in the same category as
them?
I personally find it entertaining to shoot down everything they say.
I'm simply calling you out for making it seem like RMZ is the worst
poster around when nothing he does is even remotely as bad as what
many other posters here do.
Ands still you avoid what I pointed out now numerous times, by being
defensive to a fact that PS (or whatever) trolls post *** here, somehow
justifies posting *** right back, while also being the originator in many
cases here. If you're as mature as you're poorly trying to show yourself to
be, you'd avoid the *** it too, and let what you like just speak to how
much you enjoy discussing it, and playing it.
LOL
There's absolutely nothing immature about responding to "***" posted
by trolls with cold, hard facts. If every other term in my response
was "go f*** yourself" or "you're a PS3tard" or "you can't afford this
and that" or "you stupid piece of sh1t," then you'd have a basis to
call me immature.
He starts posts in the Xbox newsgroup about how the Xbox 360 is a
better system than the PS3. If he were posting such messages in the
Playstation newsgroups like Blig, Swam, Alvin, Jimmy, and their
compatriots post anti-Xbox messages in the Xbox newsgroup, you could
call him a troll.
I laugh at your defense simply by your own explanation, and you made what
RMZ started in two threads not only simplistic, but almost angelic. Go
read
what he said man (like "Sonnet for Sony" for example)!!
I don't disagree that a post like that is both retarded and useless.
However, he only posted it in the Xbox newsgroup. Note that the only
heated responses he got were from Mark Johnson and Nick Soapdish, both
PS fanboys who blatantly post about how crappy the system is.
The irony of it is that they're responding to a post they could only
have seen by entering the Xbox newsgroup. If they're so anti-Xbox 360,
why even read the newsgroup? Yet, you don't call any of them out on
this.
But what's really fucked about your point, is that you reply to them (PS
trolls), while you clearly show what the purpose of a troll is!
As I said in my other response, I don't mind responding to trolls, and
I don't even really mind trolls myself because it's fun shooting them
down. To me, at least.
You said in
another post, "LOL - When have you ever seen me start a post against the
Playstation3? I simply respond to ridiculous posts made by PS3 zealots in
order to clarify the inaccuracies in what they say."
Don't you get it, you make the point about the troll, yet feel the need
to
feed it further. If your stance is as strong as you know it is, then no
need
to defend it.
That was simply to clarify the difference between RMZ and a troll. A
fanboy? By all means. A troll? Definitely not. That's not to claim you
were calling him a troll. That's just to make sure you know what
perspective I'm coming from.
You put too much a narrow definition of a troll with this, and again, it
samcks of defensive posturing. RMZ knows what he post here will get read,
and then get replies here, that is trolling, and it doesn't have to be to
just mere crossposts to an irrelevant group for the effect, and I know you
know that.
I just go by definitions plastered all over the Internet. The
"definition" I gave was just the general consensus. Troll is a slang
term and not an official word in any legitimate dictionary, so
interpretations can vary, but even online dictionaries have defined a
troll as a message posted for the sole purpose of inciting flames or
predictable responses.
The only people who would really get ticked off at an anti-PS3 message
in an Xbox newsgroup are PS3 trolls or supporters who read this
newsgroup just to respond to pro-Xbox or anti-PS3 messages in order to
bash them.
"Troll" comes from the fishing term "trolling" where you trail a line
of bait behind you as you move around in the hopes of catching fish.
What legitimate participants in the Xbox 360 newsgroup would be
"baited" to an angry response by an anti-PS3 message?
Again, why answer those posts? You simply lower yourself to giving
explanation to what they are trying to debunk from their horse***
ramblings. I have no problem discussing other games or consoles, but not
like what RMZ, etals are doing.
Yet you respond to RMZ's fanboy postings all the time. Why? What's the
point? You suggest that I ignore Blig and his *** buddies but you're
quick to respond to a lot of RMZ's posts. Granted, he's not trolling,
but if you feel his "ramblings" are as ridiculous as I feel Blig and
his harem are, why would you bother to respond to them if not for the
same reason as mine... to shoot them down?
Not really, most of the time I don't read him, but he certainly makes eye
catching threads for what reason is beyond me, other than paranoia. You seem
to enjoy them and have pleasure backing him up, without calling him out for
what you know he is really doing.
I back up his statements when he makes legitimate statements. I have
corrected him and even gone against him a few times when he posted
something that was plainly incorrect.
The reason I tend to back him up is because I feel most of what he
posts is indeed correct. In some cases, I might just add a comment. In
others, I might actually invest more time in a follow-up or response.
I wouldn't bother reading posts like the sonnet because there's no
point. I also don't respond or follow up to messages he posts that are
just pointless back-and-forth *** size contests between him and
numerous trolls because then he's not posting legitimate data.
But again, you know my reason, and I will
probably just put him on ignore. But again, you keep referring to defensive
tones using the "bliggy, etal do the same thing", and that this somehow
justifies the same return. If (Bligs and Co.) doing that is bad, then you
would hold that true to that in any case, right?
I'm not trying to defend him with my statements about Blig et al. I'm
trying to point out that you ignore them but continue to call RMZ out.
If they're all just the same to you, why not ignore RMZ as well and
stick just with the game discussions?
I simply don't see their actions as being the same for the most part.
For one thing, as I've said again and again, RMZ only posts to the
Xbox newsgroup where there is a legitimate appeal for his posts (save
for retarded nonsense like his sonnet). Blig et al have no legitimate
reason to post their anti-Xbox drivel in the Xbox 360 newsgroup.
Further, RMZ posts information and comes to a logical conclusion from
that data. He doesn't twist or massage the data to come to a
completely asinine interpretation, and that interpretation shouldn't
be read by staunch PS3 supporters, anyway, because he's not posting it
to the PS newsgroups.
On the other hand, Blig, Alvin, Jimmy, Swam's split personality, etc.
post data and then deliberately misinterpret it in ways that make them
sound like they have IQs in the single digits.
