Halo 3 questions:

A couple of things I dont' get about films:

If I understand right a film is a recording of an entire play session.
I was under the impression that while viewing a film that I could
record a short clip of cool stuff.
But the record button doesn't work.
Any idea what's up with that? Is there some prerequisite to being able
to record clips?
I've got a working 360, a copy of Halo, and a Live gold membership.
What more do I need?

Also ghosted out is the back button. Should I be able to rewind films
when I'm watching them, or is the playback only in one direction.
In fact, the only buttons not ghosted out on the controls are the
screenshot button and the end film button. Is that normal?

Some stuff I don't get about multiplay.

I've never really gotten into online play since I got my Xbox because
I don't know anyone else with an Xbox. On a PC this wouldn't really be
a problem since every game has a browser to find you games full of
strangers to play with.

I haven't really found a way to meet new people to play with in Xbox
games or in Live.

I tried a few of the matchmaking games in Halo 3, but since I don't
know the maps or what the objectives are I quickly got tired of being
slaughtered by people way out of my skill range.

I was really looking forward to trying coop but I don't see any way of
getting into a game with people I don't know.

It's ironic that when I try to talk my friends into buying Xbox's one
of the main arguments I use is that most games have coop while most PC
games don't.
And yet, I've never managed to get into a coop game that didn't
involve split screen in my living room.
