After finishing most of Oblivion's quests last year on a rental Game
Pass from Blockbuster . I bought the recently released "Game of the
Year" edition(2) discs Oblivion with Shivering Isle, knights of nine,
thieves den, etc. Basically all available downloads from Live including
all the game patches and fixes.
Not _quite_ true. The Xbox360 and PS3 versions apparently don't come
with the "smaller downloads" like the Mehrune's Razor dungeon, etc.,
only Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine. Bethesda made some lame
excuse about how including the other DLC would be "too confusing" to
the new player. Still, what's included is way more game than you're
apt to find in other console titles, and is a pretty big leap from
Morrowind as far as accessibility and cinematic scope.
Since I don't have LIVE i waited for the
(2) disc version of Oblivion to come out this month. WOW , shivering
Isles ,what can I say Oblivion is the best RPG I have ever played . Now
the game runs allot smoother, than the older version, which always
stuttered and froze often after a load screen. Every RPG developer
should get a copy of Oblivion and say to themselves "Ok this is the bar,
how can we raise it?" While the game does show its graphical age, its
still a very pretty game, and now that I have a better LCD TV ,it looks
even prettier. Everytime I find a new dungeon or quest, Im like a kid in
a candy store and I can't wait to get inside and explore for all the
goodies. Oblivion wow what can I say. Glad I waited for the 'game of the
year" edition 2 disc set, what a bargain @$60 .Thank you Bethseda, I
can't wait for Fallout3 if its half as good as Oblivion I'll be happy.- Hide quoted text -

Er, isn't Mehrune's Razor free?- Hide quoted text -

Regardless of that, it's not on the GOTY edition, which is more
marketed towards those without Live access or those who want the
permanence of a disc, as well as PS3 owners.- Hide quoted text -

Um, what is your hard drive for? If it was online and you have to DL
it for your PC version, like many Morrowind and Oblivion downloads,
would you complain?
