Massive multiplayer is an exception to the rule on this, but one can
argue that players in the game act as intelligent NPCs. The reality
is this, Shadownrun showed that you can't just release a game
multiplayer and expect floods of players to show up and play it. Go
search EB and Gamestop and try to find Shadowrun on there. Nope, it
isn't anywhere. The game bombed for missing this fundamental point.
I heard it was on clearance so I wanted to see if it dropped to $20 or
so, as a botmatch would be of interest to me.
Had FASA actually did a decent RPG for it, they likely would of had a
winner, but they thought doing Team Fortress was the way to go. They
got way to busy playing among themselves to notice this key point, and
the game didn't do well.
