Looks like I'm going to be picking up a 360 in the next little while.
Since the 360 has a horrible reputation for reliability, I'm trying to
decide where to buy it based on extended warrenty plans.

The future shop warrenty 'sounds' somewhat better than the Best Buy or
EB extended warrenties but I'd like to hear from people who have first
hand experience dealing with them.

Also, are the newer 360 premium systems any more reliable than the
older ones, or is any 360 a crap shoot? What I've been looking at is a
premium with the forza 2 bundle.
I'm not too interested in the elite since my HDMI input is already in
use and the $100 price difference would buy me a 2nd controller, add
on cooling fan, play & charge kit, ect.

Since I've got a computer for music and videos I'd probably only be
using the HD for game saves and the occasional demo.

Any helpful input?

Extended warranties are scams. The reason why Worst (Best) Buy peddles
garbage like extended warranties and Mobster Cables is because their
profit margins are so low with big boxes.

Future Shop? Never bought anything from them, but after looking at them
on Reseller Ratings, wouldn't even consider them. They look like another
Worst Buy.

Game stores like EB, Gamestop, GC? Screw them and their pushy membership
and pre-order pitches too..

The extra money spent on the Elite will get you more than just an HDMI
port. It also gets you a 120GB HDD. My 120GB HDD is already ~80GB full.
While 20GB will get you by, it is very convienent having a lot of cushion
room..

Buy from an online store that respects it's customers such as Newegg -- or
if you absolutetly must have it the same day, just get one at Walmart...

(Adding) For cables (especially DVI and HDMI), don't buy into the snake-oil
that most mortar and brick stores scam these days. $6 DVI / HDMI cables
from monoprice.com work exactly the same as $100 Mobster Cables..

I agree about monoprice.com. Can't go wrong with them. I'm up here
in Canada as well just like the original poster and I still use them.
