Now the big question: How does one tell if they're getting the Falcon
board with the 65nm CPU, improved heatsink and clamp without opening the
box and violating the warranty?

Or is it safe to assume that ALL HDMI-equipped Premium 360s are using the
new hardware and heatsink?

It's not broken. It's...advanced.

It's safe to assume all HDMI-equipped Premium 360's have updates to
make them run cooler.... Are they running "Falcon"? Only way to tell
us for someone to crack one open, remove the heatsink and compare it
to an older 360... Just give it a week or two and someone (I predict a
media outlet of somekind, possibly ign.com) will spend the money to
break one of the new HDMI-equipped 360's open just so they can get
referenced on the story.

Microsoft said in the past they will not comment on when the 65-nm
chips hit, so you will never get an official confirmation.

There were at least two sources at E3 stating that a new 360 hardware
configuration was coming with HDMI on Premium model and 65-nm chips.
Also the chip suppier has reveled that they have been supplying
Microsoft with the 65-nm chips since around March. So if you add it
all up, yes buy a 360 with a HDMI logo on the box and chances are you
are getting the 65-nm based CPU. Worst case, you're getting an updated
360 with more attention to cooling and HDMI thrown in.

You may be waiting a while for official confirmation.
