When I bought mine I had it connected to a 1080i rear projection set
and while it looked nice, it was not significantly different from a
480p DVD to justify the purchase price.

However, when I upgraded my TV to 1080p the difference was amazing.
Yes, part of it could be having a better TV (moving from rear
projection to DLP), but even switching between 1080i or 480p to 1080p
the differences are amazing.
