Ok guys when I set video settings to 1080p on my 360 the screen
splits and it doesn't work, does anyone know why. I am playing on a
Samsung 32" LCD HD Ready TV that's says it supports 1080p using the
cable that come with the 360 or should I buy a VGA cable. If so what
is the difference in quality

What model number Samsung do you have? Most 32 inch lcds are not
1080P.

I think its the LE32R41BD almost sure but everywhere I have read it
does say it supports 1080p so I am a little confused.

It's official specifications, from (sorry for the line break):

http://www.samsung.com/uk/products/television/tftlcd/le32r41bdxxeu.asp?
page=Specifications

say its native resolution is 1366 x 768. That means that the image it
displays is 768 lines tall, not 1,080 lines.

Samsung says its HD Ready sets can accept either a 720p or a 1080i video
signal (some may accept a 1080p signal). However, since your set has
fewer than 1,080 lines of vertical resolution, your set's video processor
will downscale a 1080i image to match the LCD panel's native resolution
(i.e., it'll scale the picture down from 1080i to 768p).

It's apparent from your initial post that setting your Xbox 360 to output
a 1080p signal isn't working -- the set is attempting to downscale *and*
deinterlace the image to 768p, and the results sound horrendous, from
your description.

May I suggest setting your 360's output to 720p? That's closer to your
set's native resolution, and any image the 360 puts out will likely have
the least amount of distortion.

(As a related example, I set my PC's video card to 1280 x 1024 to match
the native resolution of my Samsung SyncMaster 930B LCD monitor, and I
get a sharp image. Setting it to any other resolution, higher or lower,
results in a fuzzy image.)

HTH. HAND. :)

Yes but i can have my settings at 1080i so how come guys, surely 1080i is
similar to 1080p.
