Re: Analyst expect MS to annouse their price of the 360 tommorow (7/10)

There will be a 360 price cut before the end of 2007, but just like
Sony, Microsoft will deny it up untill the day it happens. There are
specific details that can't be confirmed beyond rumor, but in the
higher corporate command at the big retailers, people do know stuff
and they generally don't talk unless they have something worth
mentioning as they aren't fan boys.

The strong rumors of the $50 price cut seem to be true, but Microsoft
is waiting for the less inexpensive chips. There is at least one on-
line source saying that Microsoft had planned to announce the price
cut, but after Sony made their announcement Microsoft decided to wait
to avoid looking as though they were trying to steal Sony's thunder.
There's also the problem of Microsoft announcing a $50 price drop when
Sony has made an announcement of a $100 price drop (which doesn't mean
much since we already had a $499 PS3 in the US and according to Sony
it failed).

Two months from now, with less expensive, cool chips are in place and
Microsoft has something positive to report on how they've improved
product quality they can announce a $50 price drop across the board
and the direct comparisons to a $100 Sony "price cut" will be easier
to avoid.
