Unless they just had a recent firmware update, the Xbox 360 upscales
DVDs to 720, and the best the PS3 does 480p.

The PS3 is on 1.82 firmware now.
The 1.80 firmware added 1080p upscaling of PS1 and PS2 games and DVD
upscaling to 1080p
It also passed all of the HQV benchmark DVD tests including
deinterlacing and 1:1 pixel mapping.
It is currently reviewed as high as the better Denon and Oppo
upscaling DVD players.
The 360 fails half of the HQV benchmark tests.

Does it sound better? Absolutely. More SACD support has allowed for
SACD 5. 1output at 24/176.4 which is higher than most standalone SACD
players allow for.

It's not just a gaming console, it's not just a movie player.

So what's your favourite game, Resistance or that other one?
