Whoops. You're forgetting the memory card slot's, WiFi and Bluetooth on
the PS3 but on the other hand the Elite does come with a HDMI cable :-)

The card slots on the PS3 are a joke - you still have to buy a separate
add-on for the Playstation memory cards. Bluetooth doesn't seem to offer
any advantages over the wireless system the 360's controllers are using,
so that's a non-issue. WiFi is the only valid difference here, but only
if you haven't already run ethernet to your entertainment unit, or at
least dropped a WAP back there. Buying the single-device adapter for the
360 is a really dumb idea since a full blown WAP is cheaper and will
support more connections.

Oh, and then there is the Dual Boot thing on the PS3 and the Linux
distributions - there is even one which Sony is backing!

Big deal. What exactly does Sony expect the average consumer to DO with
Linux exactly? I know they keep crowing about how the PS3 isn't a game
console, it's a "computer", but what does that mean? Do they honestly
expect people to reboot their PS3 into Linux, bring up Open Office, and
write a letter to Grandma on their large screen TVs? I use Linux everyday
but I just don't see how "PS3 - Now with LINUX!" is going to help Sony
sell PS3s.

It's a bullet point thing. Linux on the PS3 is very immature at the
moment, and requires quite a lot of fiddling to get going.

And then you only have 256 meg of Ram to work with, which is a joke
for a personal computer.

Its a big hot gimmick.

However, it could provide a back way into ripping BD-Roms to hard disk
and running homebrew.

Sony better watch out.
