in all honesty, Blu-Ray was a compelling reason for me to buy a PS3.
there
are way too many Blu-Ray exclusives for me to wait the format war out.

I am glad you are having fun with Ultraviolet. Also, I am sure you
are eagerly awaiting to watch the dialog driven Pursuit of Happyness.
Of course, anyone else can see these movies if they wanted on regular
DVD and upscale them, if need be. So, how big is your high def TV?

dunno what Ultraviolet is (though it can't look any less spectacular than 40
year old virgin), but House of Flying Daggers is one of the movies that made
me pull the trigger on a PS3. unfortunately, it's a pretty crap example of
hd, but there are also:

Kung Fu Hustle,
Black Hawk Down,
Mr. and Mrs. Smith,
Reservoir Dogs,
Resident Evil: Apocalypse,
Rocky,
Terminator,
Terminator II,
Underworld: Evolution,
X-Men: Last Stand,
with Casino Royale and Curse of the Golden Flower right around the corner...

regarding my tv, it's large enough to note a striking difference between the
upscaled output of my Oppo, which I have recently removed from my system,
with that of hd-dvd and blu-ray (excepting House of Flying Daggers, which
was a totally botched job)

And nobody could have done the sensible thing and waited for a cross-
format player to come out so they could see EVERY HD movie available?
LOL
