Videogame and journalism used in the same sentence? This is an
industry that caters to the 18-24 year old crowd or younger, and is
filled with so many biased fanboys who can't handle the truth. It is
filled with a dime a dozen related things, and pay that is so low, you
aren't going to get high quality information. Journalists get paid in
the form of videogame demos and trips and trinkets. It is not a place
for seriousness. NOW, maybe someone writing to investors would be
serious, but beyond that? You are dealing with a business that has
lines of pimply teens wanting to work for minimum wage at a local
Gamestop.
Let's see, anyone going to lament the lack of serious journalism
covering fast food places? It is a case of supply and demand. Too
many people want to cover this field.
