I would be surprised if there was a charge for the connection. My 360
is configured with Windows Media Connect to play mp3's from my Windows
computers. Why would I pay anything to have it play from the Zune?
If the Zune does support wi-fi, then it should connect to my home
network as either a computer or a storage device. Then the 360 which
is wired could play music off the zune. If the 360 is not connected
via ethernet cable, but wireless adapter ($100), then could it connect
to both my router and the zune wirelessly, or just use the router much
like I am doing with my MCE computer.
I can't see disconnecting from XBOX Live just to connect to a Zune
whenever I wanted to listen to music. I can see the Zune being able to
connect to my home network, and supporting media (pictures & music)
sharing.

I don't have a 360 or an iPod so I have no idea how they connect. Seems
reasonable that a USB connection is all you need but the Zune is WiFi
enabled. The adaptor story is a rumor but it may provide wireless music
transfer to the Xbox.
Yes, Microsoft does manufacture a wireless adaptor for use with the X-Box or
360. And it does retail for $99.00.
I would be very surprised if the Zune did not have another means of
connecting, such as a USB cable.
