I remember reading that the PSP actually cost Sony $250 more to produce
than it was selling for, when it first hit the US. I don't bother
reading the rantings of the proven ignorant such as blig and cable, but
I'm guessing by the subject that Sony's tactic of launching a console
with a high initial loss, to be regained through sales of games and
accessories, was extremely stupid. Was that the "argument" being made
by the troll in question?
Also, Sony'll be losing a fair bit of cash on each PS3 sold when it
launches, considering that it uses a completely non-standard CPU and
will also be capable of playing blu-ray movies. That is, unless Sony
either waits a year or two, or sells the console for upwards of the
$700 range. Or does blig really believe that VCRs and DVD players
launched at prices under $200 each?
