Who's servers host EA Games running LIVE?

Just curious, does MS lease servers in the Xbox server farm to EA for their Live
game play, or does EA have their own servers, pulling data from MS?
Also curious about the architecture of the Live system itself, such as what
language the code it and what packets are sent across the wire. For example, I
shoot a bullet at a sniper...I see the bullet hit and he dies, but what info
goes from my box to all the others in the game? Is it just positional coords?
Obviously they're not sending graphics across the wire, but how is it all done?
With smoke & mirrors? :)
Any pointers to articles on this topic?
TIA
