I use component cables to hook my Xbox (and DVD player and DVR) up to my HDTV, and a Monster brand S-Video cable (given to me for free, because Monster is for suckers like you who aren't aware of the massive mark-up) for the PS2. I've never bothered getting component cables for my PS2 since such a small percentage of games are in 480p (and almost none in true HD resolutions), and I'm not willing to sacrifice a component cable input for something that doesn't make full use of it.

Monster cables aren't bad, they're just twice as expensive as non-Monster cables of virtually the same quality. Why do you think Best Buy drones ALWAYS push Monster cables? Because the store makes a ton of cash on them. Hell, some stores have competitions that award sweet prizes to the staff that can move the most Monster product, because it's such a cash cow for them.

Sorry bud, but Monster brand component cables DO look better than standard component cables, and using them on PS2 will actually make a bigger difference than using them on XBox. Why? Because most PS2 games don't have great texture quality yet have fantastic color saturation. Component is an almost completely uncompressed signal which for PS2 means far less jaggies and greater color saturation.

I bet you still think the reason PS2 games are more aliased is because Xbox uses FSAA when in fact more PS2 games use FSAA than Xbox games. Xbox uses higher quality textures which reduces jaggies tremendously. PS2 doesn't have that luxury and must rely on running games at 60fps so they can antialias the scan lines or they must use alternate forms of FSAA.

It never ceases to amaze me just how ignorant Xbots can be.
