Cabinet mods to jazz up a MAME cabinet for jukebox mode?

Has anyone aggressively souped up the sound in their MAME cabinet for
it to serve double duty as an jukebox?

This gent has a interface that would control a matrix of LED's, and it
ties in line with the sound system.
I can imagine a matrix of 20x20 led's mounted into the sides of the
arcade cabinet, to add an additional wow factor when its in Jukebox
mode.
So, anyone done this?
