May be you accidently deactivated samples for just Vanguard?

Btw. I plaid it, works fine. But can never understand what the voice is
saying other than "Be careful" right before the shield will be
gone. Google is also not helpful amazingly.

I'm running 0.81.

The 'use samples' option is definately activated for Vanguard.

The samples came frome mameworld. I have just downloaded them again
also.

I *think* some of the speech is ..... "Rainbow Zone", "Stick Zone",
"Stripe Zone", "Last Zone", "I'm Hungry". Thats what they sound like
to me : )
