Thanks to you and Philip for the help. It's now working! Is there a
good site with a list of MAME controller settings for different games?
I'm now trying Lost Tomb and am stuck. It should be like Robotron: one
joystick controls movement and the other "fires." I know the default on
the TankStick is for the left joystick (in numlock mode) to be keypad
2,4,6,8 and for the right one to be f,d,r,g, but those don't do anything
in the game.
Thanks again,
David
David, you just hit "tab" and map it to each game. It's standard and
built into every version of MAME. Don't worry about what mode or
anything.
Input (This game) is your friend....

Thanks Jon.
I thought that's how to do it, but the PC I was using acts really weird and won't do anything when I hit enter after selecting the mapping! On my other PCs it works fine. Very strange.
Anyway, now that that works, I'm left with having to modify my TankStick. Why didn't they use joysticks with fire/trigger buttons????? One of the main reasons I bought this thing was for multi-joystick games, but it sucks. If I'm playing Battlezone, I have to keep moving my hand off one of the joysticks to fire. If I'm playing Tron, it's the same: one hand is on a joystick and the other is on the trackball. What were they thinking?
Has anyone modded the joysticks to add trigger buttons tied in parallel with a couple of the other buttons?
David
