How can i change CPu speed in MAME?

i remember doing it years ago with older mame versions...during
gameplay,i pressed "\" (key before 1 on keyboard)and apperaed the on-
game menu for regulating audio,and also cpu speed.i could sort all
options by pressing down cursor.now,if i press that key on new mame
versions,it still appear that menu,but i can only see audio
options,left -right channels but no CPU speed..why?how can i access it?
