Life is better.

At least for a few of us.

My partner was in a bad car crash January last year but is well.

Good to hear (is well).

We have a 6 month old little tiger named Kyle.

That a real tiger or a cat?

I have just quit my job of 18 years so things could not be better.

TBH i really do not understand Linux enough including all the weird
commands lide sudo this and nano that to be able to get what i want.

First there are so called man pages.

So

man sudo

would say what sudo is good for and how to handle it. sudo is a command
which gives you root (admin) permissions. Usually users of the admin
group (for example the Ubuntu default user i in there) get full
permissions with that. The user's password will be asked for.

It is similar to the "Run as" command of Windows. As on Windows no one
cares for security most Windows users are admin permanently (and so the
malware they got also has full permissions to screw up the system), so
none uses this or knows of its existence.

nano is a text editor

nano file.txt

would open "file.txt" for edit.

Anyway, don't bother with it, Gnome or KDE also have what you need to do
what you want, by more convenient clicking at stuff.

But i will prevail - thats what i get for not trying it sooner, godamn
gay Winblow$

Tired of Windows malware but fear to try out Linux? Try a CD-live Linux which
does not touch your harddisk. Like <http://www.ubuntu.com/> or
<http://www.knoppix.com/>. Find out if Linux works for you without any risk.
