I have 5473 working mame roms
I have a DIE HARD ARCADE CAB with Monitor, main MB and all wires, joy
sticks and stuck buttons.
I know I will need more buttons trackballs etc,..and I want to
incorporate my 2 each MAD CATZ ( N 64 ) steering wheels and foot
controls into a folding unit ( or solid ) under the control table.
Expect to be doing some serious retrofitting. The interface of those
controls is not PC friendly, and I think the control panel will also
need to be redone from scratch.
Looking at my roms what should I use for buttons controls i pacs etc
to make all the games work good.
The IPAC unit made my cab build so much easier.
also...should I use DOS MAME since I want to use the Die Hard Original
monitor?
Since I am not up on screen resolution for that game, I don't know.
How do I connect the Monitor, wiring diagram etc,...what to use...and
safely without blowing up from the CHARGE it may have.
There is the Arcade VGA card from Ultimarc (same folk that do the
Ipac). That will help with this.
The screenshots suggest its even a good way to run windows-based
frontends.
I am looking for any all ideas that you all have found to work ,....and
if you know what type of monitor is in my
bought arcade please tell me ..( vestor ..etc ) and will my monitor
work with all games.
This is more a question of the display board and the monitor.http://www.ultimarc.com/monfaq.htmlhttp://www.ultimarc.com/avgainst.html
What is the best MAME frontloader to make it look cool to pick from
all 5000, plus games?
I use Maximus Arcade for mine, since I can scroll thru or jump pages
at a time. With that many you will also appreciate being able to
shift between the full list and the "favorites" list. Plus if you
have kids it can filter the adult games without having to delete them.
Anyways...a list of the zip roms I have working will be listed at the
bottom of this post....
What were you thinking?
I want to create controls to play them all.
I built mine with the same goal in mind.http://tinyurl.com/yvgy53
I decided, though, that most of the newer driving games for the arcade
do not play well in Mame, so instead of making my cab support steering
wheels, I'll build a sitdown cabinet that uses a big CRT sVHS TV and a
used xbox or ps2 with surround speakers in the cab and a wheel/pedal..
To see images of the Die Hard CAB I bought, and my ideas in an image
go towww.myspace.com\gregdickens
and look at my pictures....look for the folder called MAME BUILD
I like building stuff as you will see, and I love computers and relic
games.

Good luck, take time to plan.
And don't post gianormous rom lists....
Where do you download Maximus to?- Hide quoted text -

Just about any place you like. I created a directory off the root
called arcade, and put mame32, daphne, the emulators, vppinmame, etc
in subdirectories, and one sub directory for the Maximus Arcade. You
just have to make sure it knows where your mame files are and you can
set all that in the preferences.
A couple nice things about this is I set it to start right after
windows loads, and then when its idle it randomly loads a arcade game
from my favorites list for 10 minutes.- Hide quoted text -
