Has anyone succesfully dumped the MATH BOX roms from these PCB's.
Does anyone have them?

At the risk of showing my eternal ignorance, what are math box roms?- Hide quoted text -

Being a Newbie myself with mame, I quickly figured out the in the
earlier versions of Mame, they Emulated the Math processing from
dedicated chips on the PCB's, aside from emulating the main CPU's as
well. This made the games imo very slow to play in the older versions
on Mame. Tempest was a VECTOR based game, whereas most games are
raster based. Vector needs a lot of processing to draw the lines,
hence the need for dedicated roms for it. In the newer versions of
Mame, (this is where it is fuzzy to me), They must have reworked how
that portion of code is handled, and it NEEDS those roms to function
at all. But when I found them, damn the game is really smooth.

Those Atari Games that require those roms will be roms named, and this
may not be all of them, or too many, as I am a noob...but here isa
what made Tempest work better!!!
036498-01.k7
036174.01
036175.01
036176.01
036177.01
036178.01
036179.01
036180.01

I searched a while for them. I had hoped to find a match with
clrmamepro based on crc values, but I have 16gb of roms and not one
matched, so I figured it had been recently dumped (2-5 years).

I downloaded about 8 tempest roms, all from different sites, and
finally I found it one one site based in the UK of all places. Can't
remember where, but I have them if needed.
