I don't know if there is one, but I do know A Giles compiled it a month
or so back to dual core as a test to see the speed differences (and
there was a decent enough increase), however I don't know if that made
it into the current releases or just stayed as a test.
I don't know whether Thunderbird developers would consider this. Another feature I want for a long is: when composing new messages, use the character encoding of the newsgroup/mail folder. Right now, only replies could do that.
