more trash from digital eclipse, mixed with some other excellent
out of everything, i was mostly looking forward to strider...
they mucked that up. i NEVER get hit by the flying robots on the 1st
stage. i NEVER have problems getting the robo dog powerup on the 1st
stage. they screwed up the AI on this so bad, i get hit all the time
now. i can even go back to any other emulator, or even the ps1 port of
strider and play through the 1st stage fine, without getting hit once,
but not on this butchery. i could understand if it was just me getting
old, but playing it on other emulations just makes me think that
digital eclipse are tards, and that's not all.
graphics glitches on the 2nd stage to the upper right of hiryu's head
after you run down the hill and you are around the elctricity area.
amazon stage is a total screwup, stuff flying everywhere, waaaaay more
enemies than there should be.
and don't even get me started on the last stage...robots flying
through walls, not to mention enemies just randomly popping up
throughout the rest of the game.
and for some odd reason, the sound feels off as well. i can't put my
finger on it.
so, that's a.i., graphics and physics. how much more can you screw up
the game and say 'oh yeah, it's arcade perfect!' ????
they didn't convert it, or port it, they repogrammed it.
to whose liking, i have no idea, but it's crap.
not only strider, but these other bugs have been confirmed:
1) In The King of Dragons, if you let the attract mode begin playing
it's happy tune, and then start a game, that happy tune keeps playing
over everything. You literally have to reset the game to get it to
2) In Super Street Fighter II Turbo, there's an occasional moment when
the screen will flash white for a split second, and you'll notice a
v-sync-like tear as the game fades in and out.
not sure about the xbox version 1st hand, but supposedly the king of
dragons bug has been confirmed in the xbox version as well. wouldn't
suprise me if the ssf2 turbo bug was there as well. not to mention
everything else seems to be fine, but it doesn't really matter all
that much to me, as they screwed up strider, and that makes me sad
most of all. this is kind of like sega letting d3 handle all their
sega ages ports for ps2 in japan at the start of them...when sega took
the stuff over, it felt so much better. i think digital eclipse needs
to be kicked to the curb. they are a worthless company, that just
makes things look good so the companies won't worry about perfect.
midway treasures 1-3 is a fine example of that as well.
they even had the odacity to let them do a super sf2 turbo tutorial
video set from one of the digital eclipse tards...what a joke. piano
keys...? give me a break. sounds like this guy started playing the
game yesterday and read a book about it at the same time, so he
considered himself a master at the game.
