Neo Geo broken in newer MAMEs?

I went to fire up SVC Chaos today and it wouldn't load... odd I thought.
Perhaps it's just the romset that's broken in the newest MAME. So I fired
up another Neo game, the original Metal Slug, same.

Is NG broken in the .106 and above?
