PING: Ohhhh Janet.....

OK, and anyone else with an HEB store by them. Went in this evening
to lay in some supplies for the weekend.

With a new freezer coming tomorrow, I was going to look at the
briskets that were shown at 99 cents a pound in the ad. But, none
were there. Sold out.

So what did they replace them with? Briskets for 87 cents a pound.
Untrimmed, but not bad at all. They looked as good as a lot of
"trimmed" briskets I see. Nice shape, soft fat (none of that hard
tallow on the ones I looked at) and good sized for a weekend, all in
12 - 15 pound range.

At that price, I bought four, and figured that if nothing else, I will
take the one odd shaped and kinda ugly one and braise it in the WSM
( I know... braising a brisket could be call to hand over your Texas
citizenship card! ) in some kind of garlicky marinate with some
appropriate veggies.

The sale is off on the 4th.
