BBQs Galore - did not perform well at all. To much ash and quick burning..
(had to unload ash buildup from the Side Fire Box to continue a 16 hour smoke)

I now have some royal oak lump for next smoke/bbq.

You'll like Royal Oak. Almost as good as what I use. ;)

Lazzari oak.

Haven't seen RO for a long time, since their sourcing has changed are
they are good as they used to be?

I'll let ya know what I think RE: RO, but I am a spur of the moment type and like to work with what's local and readily available.  The Lazzari Oak has been well spoken of here and I might have to give it a try next time I buy charcoal.  Never know when you may have one of those epiphany moments...

Problem with Lazzari is that AFAIK it's not available through retail.
A few retailers like Safeway and Beverages & More carry their
mesquite, so might order the oak.

And, I wouldn't reccomend it so much except I can burn the overly
large pieces in my firebox no problem. Someone with a Weber might have
some issues with it, though I suspect the 20lbs bags would reduce this
problem to 0.
